Davide Stucchi

Davide Stucchi (born 1988, Italy) lives and works in Milan. Working mainly in sculpture, his works involve minimal interventions in and subtle manipulations of existing materials to investigate the body, its social functions and representations. Stucchi’s installations follow directed movements and set ups, where objects follow traces and materialize absent bodies inscribed with private and intimate feelings and memories. The confrontation of exterior realms such as fashion or advertisement and domesticity, in Stucchi’s work, is often drawn upon to question and interfere in representations of queer masculinity, sexuality and intersecting class relationships.

Davide Stucchi has presented solo exhibitions at Gregor Staiger Zurich, Switzerland, Sundogs Paris, Paris, France and Zazà, Naples, Italy (all 2019), amongst others. His work has been featured in group exhibitions at Museo Macro (2022), Stadtgalerie Bern, Switzerland (2020), Centrale Fies, Dro, Italy (2019), Fondazione Sandretto ReRebaudengo, Turin, Italy (2018), Quadriennale di Roma, Palazzo Delle Esposizioni, Rome, Italy (2016). He has held residencies at Triangle, Marseille (2016), Cité internationale des Arts, Paris, Fondazione Pastificio Cerere per l’Arte Contemporanea, Rome (both 2013).
